CO School Shooting Victim Dies

(Centennial, CO) -- A community is grieving the death of the victim of last week's Colorado school shooting. Officials at Littleton Adventist Hospital confirmed that 17-year-old Claire Davis has died. The hospital released a statement saying that Claire passed away with her family at her side. The statement went on to say that despite the best efforts of the staff and "Claire's fighting spirit, her injuries were too severe and the most advanced medical treatments could not prevent this tragic loss of life." The statement included a message from the Davis family thanking everyone for their wishes and prayers and that information regarding a public celebration of Claire's life will be announced at a future date.
Davis was shot in the head at point blank range last week when 18-year-old Karl Pierson opened fire at Arapahoe High School in suburban Denver. Pierson later turned the gun on himself.
