Great Aloha Run Expected To Draw Thousands

(Honolulu, HI) -- Runners old and young are expected to descend on Hawaii next week for the 30th annual Great Aloha Run. Last year's race had nearly 22-thousand participants, and organizers believe Monday's run will beat that number. The eight-mile-plus course begins at Aloha Tower, heads down Nimitz Highway and ultimately finishes up at Aloha Stadium. The race begins at 7 a.m. Monday, and motorists are being reminded that many streets near the course will be shut down to traffic for much of the morning.
