(Washington, D.C.) -- U.S. Representative Colleen Hanabusa from Hawaii wants to keep U.S. troops from engaging in combat in Iraq. She introduced an amendment today to the Defense Appropriations Act. Hanabusa says given that the President has invoked the War Powers Resolution, her amendment would ensure that he does not circumvent his authority. She also says that she has opposed U.S. involvement in Iraq for the last 12 years.
