UH Law Student Named Mother Of Year

(Honolulu, HI) -- A University of Hawaii law student has been named the state's 2014 Mother of the Year. Julie Sparks is a third-year-student at the William S. Richardson School of Law. She's also a mother of three. She's a divorcee and single mom who remarried five years ago. While Sparks takes a full load of law school courses, she works full time as a Realtor and spends one day a week on a Law School externship with Senator Sam Slom's Minority Research Office. She also sponsors five children through Compassion International. She will be honored at a banquet on March 29th.
